Mike McLaughlin, who was born on October 6, 1956, originally lived in Waterloo, New York before moving south to compete in the Busch Series. In the past, he has raced in a number of series including Modifieds, Supermodifieds, Busch North Series and the Featherlite Modified Series, where he was the 1988 champion.
