April 13, 2007, Newsletter Issue #86: About the Driver

Tip of the Week

Sterling Marlin, the driver of the Number 40 Dodge, made his Winston Cup debut in 1976. He took the place of his father who broke his shoulder during a crash. Marlin finished third over all in 2001, which was his first top-10 points finish in five years. His 2002 season was cut short due to an accident where he fractured a bone in his neck. For the 2003 season, Marlin is fully healed and back in the series full time.
