Jim Long started his NASCAR career as a volunteer back in 1983 for driver Morgan Shepherd. Since then, he has moved to Hendrick Motorsports, becoming chief mechanic and then crew chief. 2002 will mark Long´s seventh full season as a NASCAR crew chief. He is currently the crew chief for Terry Labonte´s Kellogg´s Team.
