January 31, 2003, Newsletter Issue #15: Speedweeks / Sponsor Change?

Tip of the Week

Since this week`s races are all to be held at Daytona International Speedway, I thought I`d give you all a little reminder of what the track is all about:

It is at Daytona International Speedway that NASCARīs major series kick off each year in February. This 2.5 mile tri-oval shaped track is found in Daytona Beach, Florida and is the home of races such as the Daytona 500, Pepsi 400, and many other races for several other series. It has 31 degree banking in the turns.

There was also news released just recently regarding Winston`s continued support of the sport. Here is a little information on the subject:

02/05/03 - Sponsor Switch?
There had been talks about the Winston Cup Seriesī sponsor, the R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, leaving the sport. The deal is not final and no time frame has been set. Winston has been the title sponsor of NASCARīs top series since 1971 is considered by many to be the one thing that saved NASCAR from going under financially.
