Tip of the Week

Following the deaths of drivers Adam Petty, Kenny Irwin, Tony Roper and Dale Earnhardt Sr., much talk has revolved around the use of another safety device. This semi-hard collar made of carbon fiber and Kevlar, is known as the HANS Device. In 2001, NASCAR officials made it mandatory for all drivers in the Winston Cup Series, Busch Series and Craftsman Truck Series to use an approved head-and-neck-restraint system.
